The Secretary
Office of the Minister of Police
Parliament Buildings
Wellington
NEW ZEALAND
The Secretary
I refer to my letter dated 06 March 2000 sent to your office attention of Anne McKay.
To date I have not received a reply from this letter nor have I received any response from the Commissioner of Police.
The Private Secretary to your Office advised she had referred my letter of 28 October 1999 on to his office.
I write now to advise that letters from both the Ministry of Commerce and the Chief Ombudsman have confirmed evidence that substantiates my complaint of an alleged breach of the Mining Act 1971.
It is beyond their jurisdiction to investigate matters where decisions were made by Cabinet Ministers however. This, I understand, is the responsibility of the Police, and the Prime Minister.
Because my original complaint has not been heeded either by your office or that of the Commissioner of Police, I will have no option but to forward a letter of complaint accordingly to the Office of the Ombudsmen and Damien O’Connor my local MP.
Once again, I respectfully await your reply before proceeding with this coarse of action.
Yours sincerely
Kenneth J Landaus
